Workshops can be booked for birthday parties, community or shire events and holiday programs.
There are currently 4 workshop themes to choose from. Each workshop is designed to teach kids different face painting techniques. More information about the themes can be found in the service package description.
Workshops are tailored to suit different age groups from around age 6 to teens. There are four workshop themes that may interest different ages. Workshops work best when the kids are all about the same age and skill level in the same workshop at the same time. When booking a workshop, let us know what age group you have and we will run the workshop to meet their skill level.
The workshops are separated into two parts with a short break in between. In part one, the kids learn some fun facts about face painting, what tools they need, how to use them and how to troubleshoot. In part two, the kids create designs from templates, and then create their own designs using the techniques they have practiced. At the end of the workshop, they receive a Certificate of Participation to pin on the fridge!
Children will learn and experiment with different tools like round brushes, petal brushes, flat brushes and petal sponges. They will learn some basic colour knowledge experimenting with colours using specialised rainbow paints. Children will learn that face paint is a form of makeup and how they can apply it to the skin, using design techniques that are fast and effective.
Workshops are 1.5 – 2 hours long depending on the age of the kids and always have a short intermission available to them. Sometimes kids will jump in and out of the workshop to play. This is ok, they still get access to all the information and products during the workshop.
Workshops are designed to paint on practice boards. Depending on the child’s age, they can paint their arms, legs, or a friend. They will be able to paint faces if they are given permission based on their skill level.
We can take orders for professional face painting packs on your behalf for you to use at home. They retail for around $50. Face painting packs are also a fantastic birthday gift!
